Nona's Sims

Modding and Troubleshooting The Sims 3

Expect Delays

I went to my first class of the semester today. I’m really hyped up about this whole studying thing. Anyhow, if you post a question or something, I will probably need time to answer it.

That said, if I have has Russian readers, feel free to say hi 🙂 My minor is in Slavic Cultures, and I have to learn Russian as part of my studies. I’m working on the Cyrillic alphabet right now.

    • Awesome! 🙂 Actually, it looks like I won’t get to start Russian until next semester though 😦

  3. Well, if you are not taking the Russian class yet, may I give you a suggestion?
You should try and find Russian films or watch the news in Russian (maybe on the Internet?) so that you become used to the sounds and flow and cadence of the language. It does not matter if you do not understand much, the important issue is to become familiar with the language. Believe me, it does help a lot to listen to the target language as much as you can.
I have always liked the variety in the sound in different languages. I just speak Spanish and English, but I have tried to learn French too. Maybe one day it will be possible for me not to butcher that beautiful language, hehe. I am also interested in learning Japanese, but then again, as I said, languages are very interesting to me. 🙂
I hope you and all your readers and followers have had a nice Easter break, Nona, and good luck with your studies. I am cheering for you, ok?

    • Thanks, RedMallie 🙂 I’ve already started working on Russian and I appreciate your tips. I used to teach German as a foreign language in an immersion camp, so I totally agree with you! I ordered the Russian book right away, so I have that too, and it has a CD for listening exercises.

The problem with the Russian course is that they aren’t offering the beginner’s Russian course this semester, so the only way I could start now is I have do both the first and second semesters at the same time. That is just too much for me, unfortunately.

    • Thank you so much! I’ve got a final on Tuesday and then I’m done with classes, but I have to write a paper and do some reading 🙂 I should have some time to enjoy Sims 4 before next semester!
