    • Hi, Dee. I’ll look into it but I’m not hopeful. I tried to make toddlers able to use Cyberbob’s teleporter stairs, but it seemed like the age checks go too far deep into the core to do it with only scripting. It might be the same with kittens.

  3. Thank you Nona, any help would be appreciated! There is a mod cat bunk bed that allows kittens to be on the top bunk so maybe that trick could also work with stairs?

  5. I didn’t know where else to go to ask this. But I trust your scripting mods more than most. Is it possible to script a queuing system for the LLAMA Ancient Portal teleport booths? Twallan opened them up for autonomous use with his Go Here mod, and that works beautifully on an individual scale. But try a group outing and there’s hell to pay. Because they’re available as autonomous, every sim in the group heads straight for the booth, but there is no waiting or queuing system once the crowd all arrive. So annoying when they all immediately break from the group with zero patience to wait for their turn. There’s obviously a queuing system in the game for things like fridges, toilets, even kissing booths. Can a queuing system be applied to LLAMAS to save the group outing events from falling apart at this first hurdle? Thanks, Nona.

    • Sorry, I don’t think I can fix this for you. It will probably require either a core mod or, perhaps, a complete re-write of the LLAMA.

  6. Hello, question is it possible to download witches in sims 3 with just the base game, like you can with vampires? Because at the moment I trying to create a sim but it just stays at processing.

    • I don’t think it is possible Ashley, sorry. It sounds like you have an outdated mod or some bad cc. Try loading the game up with no cc and no mods, and see if you can get into CAS. If you can, you’ve got problem cc or a broken mod. If you do, slowly add back bits of your cc and mods until you can identify the problem files.

  8. Hi Nona,

    Thank you for giving me an idea where to post my requests.

    I’ve got two requests. The first one is for University. I’d love to have a stand-alone Social Group Skill Mod – that could turn off having your active family turn into Nerds/Jocks/Rebel.

    I would -love- to be able to have my sims be able to play with their computers/consoles without getting nerd skill at all, unless I choose to turn it back on.

    I don’t know why it annoys me, but it does almost enough that I’ve wanted to quit playing Sims all together – except to build houses.

    My second request is for I’m not sure which expansion, but to have some kind of mod that allows to stop the date calls, love letters and gifts from other sims to my married sim couples. It bothers me when my married sims get a call/letter or gift from an acquaintance.

    It’s almost like an ex-boyfriend calling out of the blue and asking me out on a date — makes my skin crawl big time!!

    If these mods are able to be made, will they interfere with other mods? In trying to find mods that will help game play, we’ve (my hubby and I) found some conflicting mods, and may have to pick and choose what mods we use. I was actually hoping to be able to have my favorite mods plus these two. From there I think I’d be set.

    • Hi, again MrsFlynn. Thanks for posting your request.

      – Social Group Skills – It is possible to make some round about script mod that would remove social group skills from the active family. At least this is the only possible way I can think of fulfilling your request. You can’t just turn off skill gain for a specific set of sims, but you could create a mod that, every 30 sim minutes, or every sim hour or whatever, the mod would reset the social group skills back to 0, unless you turned the feature off. This is not something I can work on right now. It’s an easy enough mod, but I’m going out of town very soon and I have a lot to take care of (and of course, in perfect timing, my back is giving me a lot of problems now). So if I do look into this (and I’m not promising I will), I probably won’t be able to start it or have it ready until after I come back in January. In the meantime, you could use a mod that disable social group influence overall. I would appreciated it if you could let me know if my roundabout idea of doing it would be acceptable, and if you’d require some extra features.

      – There’s a mod by Shimrod that addresses your second request. No Attraction Calls For Dates and Mailbox Gifts + Fewer Calls flavor. You must be registered in order to be able to see and download this mod. If you’re not already registered at the Sims Asylum, I highly recommend it. It is home to a group of very dependable, reliable and helpful creators who you can trust and the community is very friendly.

      – On the subject of mod compatibilty, if you haven’t already, I recommend reading my Understanding Mod and CC Conflicts with Delphy’s Dashboard post at Simlogical. It’s a long read, but you’ll learn a lot about conflicts and detecting them. If you have some more specific questions on mod compatibility, feel free to ask me. I’ve been known to check myself when people ask me if certain mods (that I haven’t even made) conflict.

      Finally, Here is my suggestion for social group influence mods you can use:

  9. Thank you for your suggestions. We’ve installed on Hubby’s game the Slower Social Gain, and some of Simrod’s mods, to help with mod testing. These seems to be doing okay.

    What our goal was/is to try to pair down the mods we have installed to only
    a select few and hopefully have them run without conflicting with each other.

    For example one of our favorite mods is Nraas MasterController, but has to take that one out because we’re thinking one or some of Simrod’s mods is conflicting with it.

    I personally like using Nraas StoryProgression, but have noticed a slow down with that mod, that’s why I’m asking for a social group skill mod. So that way we can leave out SP of our mods folder.

    I love your idea of mod that “resets” the social group skill back to 0. That’s definitely something I’d be interested in!!

    I’m not sure on extra features in the mod. Although something that comes to mind is set all stray animals to 0 instead of having to set that for each animal. I’m not sure if that’s possible.

    If you do decide to create this mod for me, getting it done after January works for me.

    Now this has got me to thinking if I could request my dream all-in-one mod what features would it have in it. *Snicker*

    • Lock Community doors works perfectly fine for me in 1.66/1.67. Make sure that you are not using another out of date script mod that can cause the loading process to break and effect other mods.

  11. hi Nona!! ^___^
    i’m totally new to modding (and just working with computers in general), but i’ve taken on a reallllly big project: i’ve been trying to recreate Smonaff’s period hack for sims 2 to work with the sims 3, since it was one of my favorite mods for sims 2 and i really miss it. i initially thought i could do it, and i’m very reluctant to ask someone else to do it since it seems like such a labor intensive thing and you must be totally flooded with requests since you’re such a popular modder, but i’ve been working on it for weeks now and nothing seems to be working, so i think it’s just way too much above my skill level to take on right now. this seemed like something that might interest you though, so do you think you would be able to do it?

      This particular kind of mod has been requested many times and it is not really my cup of tea. I’m sorry, I’m just not interested in creating a period mod. This might change in future, but I honestly doubt it.

  12. Hi!
    Do you know of a mod that can assign cribs to toddlers and infants like we already assign beds to older Sims? It would be much appreciated if you do, and can direct me somewhere.
    It’s very infuriating when I design different nurseries and the Sims continually put the wrong kids in the wrong ones. Locking and unlocking the doors work for now, to let in babysitters and such when I need to, but I’d prefer to find a scripting mod that can address the issue.

The intriguing history regarding the jockstrap… We have to visit all the way back to the 1870s, and a Mr. Bennett of Chicago, who has been clearly *very* troubled concerning the particular injury in which cobbled pavements were doing to cycling courier’s balls. All that out of control moving about kept him up at night. Poor Mr. Bennett. But the good news is for the bicycle messengers (or ‘jockeys’), Mr. Bennett had a concept, and that he referred to it as after these folks. The ‘jock strap’ was developed. Fast-forward fifty years to the 1920s, and a young Canadian named Jack Cartlege. Jack beloved his hockey *almost* just as much as he liked slipping on his favourite jock strap, but it wasn’t until one fateful day in 1927 that Jack realized (the hard way!) that his jock strap wasn’t any competition for any hockey puck inside genitals. Jack wasn’t enormously enthusiastic on repeating the experience, and who places blame him, so he came up with the ingenious idea of slipping a hard cup down the top of his jock strap. The design and style was rapidly branded and development begun. Gentlemen no longer had to live in concern with a stray puck, ball or studded shoe. Jack’s arrangement of jock strap and safety cup had become the principal of boys’ school sports equipment throughout the globe for the remainder of the twentieth century, right up until underclothing brands like Andrew Christian, C-in2 and Addicted started reinventing the typical design. Out went the unpleasant colour of off-white plus the unflattering waistbands, and in came a fresh collection of innovative cuts and designs, and exciting shades. These present day jock straps are definitely the ideal balance between fashion and function – as great around the track or in a gym because they are under a pair of jeans, or suit trousers if you’re game for it. Business in the front, party in the back!
